Analytics

I use Umami, which I run myself on a server in Poland at stats.zanlib.dev. No analytics company is involved.

It records per page view: the page, the referring page, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and country. No cookies. Your IP address is not stored—it is hashed together with your browser details and a secret that changes frequently, so repeat visits within a short time can be accurately counted without identifying you.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in knowing which posts people read, using a method chosen to avoid identifying anyone.

Where it runs

The site is hosted by Netlify, and requests to the analytics server pass through Cloudflare as a reverse proxy. Both keep short-lived access logs (IP, timestamp, page, user agent) for delivery, security, and abuse prevention. Both act as my processors and may not use the data for their own purposes. Both are US companies, so this transfers data outside the EEA under their data processing agreements, which incorporate the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your browser

Every asset—fonts, images, stylesheets, scripts—is served from zanlib.dev. Nothing loads from a CDN, font service, ad network, or social widget. The only other host your browser contacts is my analytics server above.

Your light/dark mode choice is saved in local storage under theme. It stays on your device.

Links to other sites, including the /github, /x and /linkedin shortcuts, lead to services with their own policies.

Your rights

Write to hello@zanlib.dev to request access, correction, erasure, portability, or to object to processing. The analytics data holds nothing traceable to you, so usually there is nothing to retrieve or delete; email correspondence I can act on directly. You may also complain to the Polish DPA (uodo.gov.pl).
